In that regard, it was good to see him fight once again! The Kanai in-game model is actually taken directly from the transmog of Kevin's character. Kevin sadly passed away to cancer in October of 2014, however the Kanai's Cube was introduced bearing his name in honor to the work he did for the Diablo franchise. The event is undoubtedly in some connection with Kevin Kanai Griffith, who was a Senior Artist on the Diablo staff. The level appears to be a modified Cow Level, with a reasonably high density of Champion and Rare monsters. When approached, Kanai's ghost will exit his body, and open a portal which leads to Kanai's Stomping Grounds. While the room is normally occupied by several ghosts who seem to be paying tribute to their fallen king, today the throne is once again taken up by Kanai himself.
Sure enough, the stories were true!Īfter players head to the Throne Room in The Ruins of Sescheron, located in Act III, they will see that the room has changed. After exploring what was assumed to be some serious clickbait trolling, evidence was given that there was indeed just that. Threads started popping up a few hours ago on Reddit claiming a passage had opened in Ruins of Sescheron, leading to a Secret Cow Level. Today's surprise was a new Secret Cow Level!Įven the aging Diablo III still holds some surprises for the community to discover.
